History
W.C. Clarke (William Christopher to his mother, Bill to most, and Uncle Willie to a few select friends) has been roasting, brewing, and selling his own special coffees to State College, PA locals for over 40 years.
If you are lucky enough to live in State College (home of Penn State and the Nittany Lions), you can experience the joy of getting to work early (really early) and inhaling the wonderful aromas emanating from Bill's roaster, wafting through Calder Way between 6 and 8 a.m. The heady aroma of Bill's latest organic and/or fair trade selection wanders down the alley and draws you in.
No need to ask for a cup. Pour your own, throw your change on the counter. Only have a $20? Make your own change. Bill's too busy watching his roasting timer and talking with the morning regulars.
Coffee is very important...

Bill's got more than coffee...
The Cheese Shoppe has cheeses galore, not to mention fine chocolates, oils and vinegars, a proud selection of locally-baked breads, and a lot of conversation and advice from his many patrons.
